With just a little over two months away from the 2012 Olympic Games, Florida State swimmers were in action this past weekend at two different competitions with goals of qualifying for both the Olympic Games and Olympic Trials.

The 2011-2012 season for the men's and women's swimming and diving team officially came to a close last weekend as the student-athletes were recognized for their achievements at the seasonal awards banquet.

Two members of the Florida State men's swimming and diving team garnered post-season honors from the ACC as the league office announced the award winners on Thursday. Senior Mateo De Angulo captured the Swimmer of the Year honors as freshman Juan Sequera earned Freshman of the Year.

Florida State completed the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash. at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center last night, as they put together two seventh place finishes en route to an overall 16th place team finish.
